Peter Jackson Leads The Cheesecake Cafe’s Culinary Future
The Cheesecake Cafe & Bakery Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Jackson as Culinary Leader for the Western Canadian-based franchise. The Cheesecake Cafe & Bakery Inc. has five units in Alberta (Edmonton, Calgary, Lethbridge).
Peter Jackson is a graduate of the California Culinary Academy based in San Francisco, California. Jackson worked in restaurants in the Bay Area, including Beringer Vineyards in Saint Helena.
For the last twenty years, he was the owner/chef of the highly-acclaimed and innovative “Jack’s Grill” in Edmonton, Alberta. Jackson recently sold his restaurant and, along with his wife Sara, founded Aylesford Mountain Vineyard in Aylesford, Nova Scotia. He plans to operate the vineyard while working with The Cheesecake Cafe.
Jackson has been in demand as a presenter and instructor at numerous food and wine events including the Wine & Spirit Education Trust and Christmas in November, an annual event in Jasper, Alberta.
In his new role for The Cheesecake Cafe and Bakery Inc., Jackson will lead the company in setting a new food and drink program; oversee menu and recipe development; improve culinary skills; and participate in public relation events.
“I have been a fan of Peter’s skills as a chef and entrepreneur for a long time”, says Robert Beeson, President of The Cheesecake Cafe. “I am excited that Peter has agreed to come on-board to guide our culinary vision for the coming years. I think it will be inspiring not only for myself and our team of staff and management but for our guests who, ultimately, are the reason we are looking to improve our Cafe’s experience.”
Peter Jackson will begin his duties later this month. Guests of The Cheesecake Cafe will be able to see (and taste) the results of Jackson’s efforts in the Spring 2010 menu launch.
